Feeling Daisies

So as Summer is gradually taking hold I have been loving wearing this very subtle, floral theme. The Necklace and Earring duo is from River Island and I can tell you, I have received endless compliments, on the earrings in particular, when wearing these.\

Even my brother, who NEVER compliments me on what I wear, said that he loved my earrings. I just think they are so cute and summery, without being totally OTT.

Even when I went to get my cartilage pierced, my piercer complimented me on them!

The top also is a new love. It's from New Look and is just a simple alternative to a strappy top, it also looks so gorgeous alongside the jewellery!

Gloss It Up

From Left:  Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump,  No7 High Shine, Maybelline ColorSensational Shine, MAC Cremesheen Glass, Benefit (not sure the name/colour), No7 High Shine in Rose Pearl, Benefit CORALista.

It maybe that I've been watching too much Gossip Girl, but recently I just can't get enough of glossy lips! I am usually a matte lip girl through and through, and don't get me wrong matte red lips win every time; but for summer, with minimal makeup, lip gloss just looks gorgeous!

I haven't got a very big collection as I've really disliked gloss in the past, so I've had to make a few purchases.

My favourites at the moment have to be:

No7 High shine - Rose Pearl

I absolutely LOVE this gloss, it's the perfect colour, almost clear with just a hind of pink. It's also not sticky in the slightest despite giving a lovely shine.
*it's also the one I'm wearing in the photo*

Maybelline ColorSensational Shine Gloss

This gloss is lovely also however, despite it's name, it's not as shiny as the others but it's the least sticky and so moisturising. I really love it and the colour (I can't remember it's name) is such a gorgeous peach/coral and so pigmented.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump

So this one is a weird one for me. I absolutely love the look, and taste of this gloss. It's a gorgeous pink and has a beautiful sheen but the way it feels on the lips is...um...interesting. It's not sticky at all but to say it makes your lips tingle is a bit of an understatement! My lips felt numb they were tingling so much, and I'm still not sure if I like that. But it's still in my favourite 3!

Benefit TropiCoral

In an attempt to inject some summer into my makeup I picked this lovely Benefit set up from Boots the other day. I only went over to enquire as to the price of CORALista and ended up coming away this this...oops!

I absolutely love it though and have been using it pretty much everyday. It's a perfect set to take on holiday to have that gorgeous, summery coral glow.

It includes (as you can probably see):

High Beam
Cha Cha Tint
CORALista Blush
CORALista Lip Gloss

To me these sets are just perfect for trying a nice range of products that all compliment each other, at such a great price. And that way, if you don't like one of them, you haven't wasted a lot of money on just one thing!
It was £25.50, and considering CORALista on it's own is £23.50, you're getting a pretty good deal.

May Favourites

Hey Pixies!

So, this was meant to be an April favourites but hey, I'm late as always so it's turned into a May one! April held my birthday so a couple of the favourites are non beauty and are prezzies that I was kindly given! Enjoy!

Naked 2 palette

So my amazing best friends were so kind to club together and buy me the Naked 2 palette for my birthday. I have the other two naked palettes so was really excited to try this! I literally squealed when I opened it!
I'm not going to say too much as I think everyone knows about the Naked palettes by now, but I will say that I think this may be my favourite of all the Nakeds (although I do love Naked3 as it compliments brown eyes really nicely).

YSL Elle Perfume

So with some birthday money that I received from relatives I decided to treat myself to a new high end perfume as my Valentina by Valentino has pretty much died (though I refuse to let it go!). After smelling what felt like a million different scents we gave up for the moment and went to ogle the makeup at the YSL counter where the lovely ladies there introduced us to Elle.
It is a beautiful strong scent, it's fairly heavy but not too much and has a lovely rosy aroma. I got it in Eau de Parfum instead of Toilette which I recommend doing as, although it's slightly more expensive, it lasts all day on the skin without ever needing to reapply, which in the long run is a better investment if you're already splashing out, in my opinion.
Oh and as with all things YSL, the packaging is just beautiful and perfectly apt for the scent

YSL Touche Eclat

So while we were at the YSL counter my Mum and I decided to treat ourselves to the iconic Touche Eclat, as neither of us had tried it before. This product is famous for a reason, it's the hallmark of quality, goes on like a dream and truly brightens your eyes. As someone who suffers terribly with dark circles this product is a true life saver! Plus it came in this limited edition leopard print packaging, cool or what?

Alexa Chung - IT

My sister bought me this book for my birthday, she's always been good with gifts - it's a talent, and this book is no different. As someone who likes fashion who wouldn't want Alexa's book?
It looks gorgeous, the photos in it are stunning. It's tumblr in a book really! And the book itself is a wonderful read, I did it in one 2 hour sitting! I just love her and now I love IT.

Globe Watch

So, like every other iPhone user over the past few weeks, I have discovered Depop. What an app! I'm in love. My one and only purchase so far has been this gorgeous watch. It's so simple and unique and for the price I couldn't complain in the slightest. It was a mere £7.00 including P&P!! It's not the best quality watch ever made but for £7.00 who cares! It's been a perfect purchase - God bless Depop!

Nose Piercing

So in the Easter holidays I took the plunge and finally decided to get my nose pierced. I've wanted to for far too long but been too much of a wimp to go through with it. But luckily I had my best friend (who's very used to piercings) to coerce me into it - thank you Maddie - I love it! I's weird I honestly couldn't imagine my face without it now.

So there's a few things I've been loving this month!

Much Love

Natural Makeup

Hey Pixies!

Now don't get me wrong I am a sucker for thick winged liner or a killer smokey eye but recently I have been preferring to save those dramatic looks for special occasions. Because often when you wear makeup like that everyday, the novelty wears off and it doesn't feel so special anymore. Also with summer just around the corner (although it doesn't seem it) a lighter look, looks and feels so much nicer.

Products Used

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum/YSL Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

YSl Touche Eclat /Boujois Healthy Mix Concealer

Soap & Glory Archery

No7 Lash Impact Intense Volume Control Mascara/Clinique High Impact Mascara

Benefit High Beam/17 highlighter

Benefit Coralista/Nars Laguna Bronzer

No7 High Shine Lipgloss Rose Pearl

Those are roughly the products I've been using, I've put quite a lot down, considering the 'minimal makeup' theme, but the '/' mean that I either use one or the other depending on what I'm feeling on the day!

This doesn't mean that I don't still love whacking out the red lip on a night out or a smokey eye at a party, I just feel like lighter makeup is so much better for my skin and it also makes those looks feel like a real treat!

I'm baack!

Hey pixies...

Ok so let's all just take a few minutes to laugh at me - go on I know you want to! My last post was A NEW YEARS post, almost 5 months ago (!) and in which I spoke about not setting resolutions because I never stick to them, how right was I eh? The only resolution I made was to blog more and how well did I keep to that? ...Well let's move on shall we.

So I know no excuse is really good enough but alike the last few years the first half of 2014 has been eventful and not very good for me, but recently I have made a few decisions that are really going to change my life and for the better.

So now that I find myself in a slightly better place personally, lets blog!

I really have missed this little portion of the internet and the whole beauty community! Alright my bank balance has been better off but my sense of enjoyment has taken a knock without it.

So as the days are getting longer, the weather's getting warmer and summer seems to be well and truly on the way, I am so excited to start tap tap tapping away at my keyboard once again. Even as I type ideas are whizzing round my mind, so here goes!!

I really hope there are still some of you lovelies left that fancy reading me again!

Oh and here's a picture of a puppy in nerd glasses, it made me smile so I hope it does you too!

Lots of love always

Happy New Year

Hey Pixies!

So Happy New Year to all of you, I hope you all had a good one!

So last year I did a resolutions post, but to be fair I didn't really keep to any of them, 2013 was a pretty shit year for me and I don't want to set the bar too high for myself as far as resolutions are concerned as they end up just being a disappointment.
So this year I just want to take everything as it comes and cope with anything that is thrown at me as well as I possibly can.

However...
The one resolution that I do have, is that I want to really throw everything into this ickle blog of mine! Recently (I know I've slipped a bit but it was christmas - leave me alone) I have loved sticking to a schedule, and have really been getting into it and loving blogging again!

(You might have to be a tad lenient at times as I am in the middle of my AS Levels so school does tend to get in the way of blogging quite a bit but I am going to try and keep it up as well as I can!)

I finally feel like I know my own blog. That might sound weird to just blog readers but if you have a blog I'm sure you understand the feeling that you've got this blog but you don't really know what you want it to be. It is so easy to compare your blog, or try and make your blog like others but sooner or later you have to accept that your blog is just an extension of you and you can't be anyone else but you and it's exactly the same with your blog! Finally I know my little blog, and I quite like it as it goes :)
I appreciate every comment that I receive and every new follower I get as few or many as I may have - so thank you!

So guys I'm sorry if this post was boring to you but I feel weird just beauty posting again without acknowledging a new year beginning! I really do hope that 2014 is a better year for me and a great one for all of you!

Much love and thank you!
